When You Die Are You Leaving Any Money Behind

If you were to find out today that you could never work again a day in your life.  Were never going to be able to earn any money forever. What would you do?  Really, stop for a second and think about the pit in your stomach every time you went to the mail box.  Because you know you don't get letters from friends anymore.  The only reason the mailbox is there is to receive bills, water, electric, gas, cable, phone, mortgage, garbage, and then the non-home bills, car, car gas, groceries.  How the heck are you going to pay for all this if not another dime would be deposited into your bank account?

Done pondering the immensity of the problem.  The fear you feel is the same, but only marginally less, than the fear you family will feel if you die and don't leave them any money.  September is Life Insurance Awareness month.  You should be aware that your family needs you, and you have a responsibility to protect them no matter what happens.  You know you are going to die, bottom line.  You don't know when. Just watch the news and read the obituaries.  There are a lot of young people the day unexpectedly every day.  Don't kid yourself it could be you.

Buy some Life Insurance.  If you have kids you need between 9-12 times your income or 2 time your home value.  No kids, then 7-9 times your income should do.
